Sexy wavy

A few months ago I went to London for a few days and I fell in love with the not so cold weather, the food, the lights, the street style so different from what I´m used to see in my city and the streets. Looking to these photos makes me miss so much my long hair, even though it only got that curled in London :(.
As I was all day long rushing through all the different kinds of pavement that you can find in London, I needed a very comfy outfit; so I threw on a pair of warm leggings and a bright color sweater. The key to dress properly in cities like London is to use layering pieces.

If you are able to go to London, you must go to Camden Market, it is the most curious place to see and its own style makes it even harder to leave. There´s were we took these photos.

Hace unos meses visité Londres unos pocos días y me enamoré totalmente del tiempo no tan frío como esperaba, de la comida, de las luces, del street style tan diferente del que estoy acostumbrada a ver en mi ciudad y de las calles y su vida. Ver estas fotos me hace echar muchísimo de menos mi pelo largo, aunque solo en Londres conseguí que estuviese así de rizado :(.
Como estaba todo el día recorriendo de arriba abajo los distintos tipos de aceras que puedes encontrar allí, necesitaba llevar un look cómodo; de modo que mi outfit consistió en unos leggings abrigados y un suéter de un color vivo. La clave para ir bien vestida en ciudades como ésta es usar varias capas.

Si en algún momento tenéis la posibilidad de ir a Londres, el mercado de Camden es un lugar de visita obligada, es uno de los sitios más curiosos a los que he ido y su estilo tan particular hace aún más difícil irse de allí. Es en este mercado donde hicimos estas fotos.

Spotted: Pastel Blue

Today we spot one of  the big trends we saw on the runways for s/s 2014: pastel colors, like pastel blue and soft green. We spotted this trend on different designer collections like Burberry Prorsum, Ellie Saab, DKNY and BCBG keeping it simple with soft silhouettes, midi skirts, buttoned shirts and fabrics such as lace, sheer and silk. 

Really you can´t go wrong with such a beautiful color but there are certain questions that pop up when we want to combine it with another pieces. This kind of color looks beautiful with pastel pink or yellow, electric blue, beige and bright orange. So, I´ve created five looks for different occasions in which you will be able to introduce this awesomely flattering trend and also, I´ll give you at the end of the post two wedding appropriate options that you can style with a pair of nude heels and a jewel clutch.

Hoy hablamos sobre una de las grandes tendencias para esta temporada primavera/verano 2014: los colores pastel, como el azul cielo y el verde mar. Hemos visto esta tendencia en colecciones de distintos diseñadores como Burberry Prorsum, Ellie Saab, DKNY y BCBG con looks minimalistas utilizando siluetas sencillas, faldas midi, camisas de botones y telas como el encaje, las transparencias y la seda.

En realidad no puedes equivocarte con este color tan bonito pero hay ciertas dudas que nos acuden cuando queremos combinarlo con otras prendas. Este tipo de color queda perfecto con el rosa y amarillo pastel, el azul eléctrico, el beige y un naranja vivo. De modo que he creado cinco looks para distintas ocasiones en las que podrás traducir esta tendencia de la pasarela, al street style y también, al final del post, hay dos looks que pueden servir para alguna ocasión especial con unos tacones nude y un bolso joya.

Little Red Riding Hood

Who doesn´t love a cape? And even better, who doesn´t love a red cape? Since the first time I saw this cape I fell instantly in love with it. It can take me from day to night if I want a fancier look for the day or a sweeter look for the night with a cocktail dress. 

They key to wear this kind of coat with such a bright color is to keep it simple underneath, just a pair of military green pants, a shirt and a light color bag.

Also I wanted to tell you that I will be very happy to solve any doubts or answers that you have in terms of pulling of a certain outfit and, of course if you want me to write about anything concrete just tell me. Keep smiling!

¿A quién no le gustan las capas? O incluso mejor, ¿a quién no le gustan las capas rojas? Desde el primer momento en el que vi esta capa me enamoré de ella. Puede llevarte desde un look más arreglado de mañana, a un look más dulce para la noche con un vestido de cocktail.

La clave para llevar este tipo de capa con un color tan vivo es llevar debajo un look sencillo; basta con un par de pantalones verde militar, una camisa y un bolso de un color suave.

También quería deciros que estaré encantada de resolver las dudas o preguntas que tengáis sobre algún outfit y, por supuesto, si queréis que escriba sobre algo en particular no tenéis más que decirlo.

Look at me

Today I just feel happy, one of those days when I feel like myself in a pair of light blue jeans, a pair of furry wedges and my Markus Lupfer sweater. It´s my very first designer item and I´m so proud I was able to buy it with my own money.

I´m all for the no make up and simple chic style. You don´t have to wear make up or a huge sequined dress to feel sexy and strong, you have to to be stylish with no matter what you´re wearing, it´s all about your confidence and attitude. Keep the good vibes coming!

Hoy me siento simplemente feliz, es uno de esos días en los que me siento yo misma en unos vaqueros claros, unas cuñas de pelo y mi suéter de Markus Lupfer. Es mi primera adquisición y me siento muy orgullosa por haberla podido comprar con mi propio dinero.

Estoy totalmente a favor de no llevar maquillaje y los conjuntos simples pero chic. No hace falta llevar maquillaje o un gran vestido de lentejuelas para sentirse fuerte y sexy, debes ser chic sin importar lo que lleves. lo más importante es la actitud y seguridad en uno mismo.

Trend Cocktail: The Perfecto

This week´s trend is the Perfecto, also known as the "Marlon Brando jacket". This leather jacket, made by the Schott brothers in the early ´10s, was the first jacket with zippers. This type of jacket revolutioned the world because of its details such as the metallic zippers in the pockets, the sleeves and the chest, the short length not so common on that time, the belt and the detailing on the shoulders, where used to be one star on each one.

It was after the releasing of the film Wild one, when this kind of leather jacket was forbidden in schools because it was a motorcycle gang symbol; but, as always, what´s forbidden is the most wanted thing (and of course who doesn´t love a dangerous boy?). So the Perfecto, named after the favorite cigar of Irving Schott, became the year after the most selling jacket in America.

La tendencia de esa semana es el Perfecto, también conocido como la "chaqueta Marlon Brando". Esta chaqueta, diseñada por los hermanos Schott a principios de 1910, fue la primera chaqueta con cremallera. Esta clase de chaqueta revolucionó el mundo de la moda de entonces debido a sus muchos detalles como las cremalleras metálicas que encontramos en los bolsillos, las mangas y el pecho, el corto, el cinturón y el detalle de los hombros, donde antes había una estrella en cada uno.

Tras el estreno de la película Salvaje, este tipo de chaqueta fue prohibida en los institutos porque se la relacionaba con ese tipo de banda de moteros peligrosos; pero, como siempre sucede, lo prohibido se convierte en lo más deseado (y, por supuesto, ¿a quien no le gustan los chicos peligrosos?). De modo que el Perfecto, llamado como los cigarros preferidos de Irving Schott, se convirtió al año siguiente en la chaqueta más vendida en toda América.

Nowadays this kind of jacket, first shown in a runway by Jean Paul Gaultier, can be styled with mostly anything thanks to the leather and the metallic zipper who match with everything. From a gown that you want to ease up without having to give up the heels (like the outfits on Christian Siriano´s collection), to pulling of a more rock and roll look with messy hair and a Ramones T-shirt or with some jeans and a tight bun with converse or pointy toe heels; this jacket will definitely be more edgy.
But, if you are a boy, PLEASE wear it with a pair of combat boots, dark denim washed jeans and a cool light color T-shirt.

Actualmente este tipo de chaqueta, que apareció por primera vez en las pasarelas de la mano de Jean Paul Gaultier, se puede combinar con casi todo gracias a la piel negra y a las cremalleras metálicas que se convierten en un básico. Desde un vestido que quieres hacer más casual sin tener que renunciar a los tacones, llevar un look más rock and roll con pelo ondulado y rebelde y una camiseta de los Ramones o conjuntarla con unos vaqueros, un moño alto y con converse o tacones de punta, la chaqueta le dará un toque más original y cool.
Pero, si eres un chico, POR FAVOR llévala con un par de botas, vaqueros oscuros desgastados y una camiseta de un color claro con algún pequeño estampado.

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to the beautiful and incredibly talented L´Wren Scott. She was found dead in her Manhattan apartment at 10 a.m. without any suicide note. 

L´Wren was 49 years old and she was a former model and designer. She had worked as a model for brands like Calvin Klein and; in the ´90s she started to develop a career as a stylist with photographers like Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton and Karl Lagerfeld. She was responsible for the styling part at the Elizabeth Taylor´s perfume "White Diamonds" campaign.

Ayer tuvimos que decirle adiós a la preciosa e increiblemente prodigiosa L´Wren Scott. Fue encontrada muerta en su apartamento de Manhattan a las 10 a.m. sin una nota de suicidio.

L´Wren tenía 49 años y era una antigua modelo y actual diseñadora. Trabajó como modelo para marcas como Calvin Klein y; en los 90 empezó a desarrollar una carrera como estilista con fotógrafos como Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton y Karl Lagerfeld. Fue la encargada del vestuario de la campaña del perfume "White Diamonds" de Elizabeth Taylor.

She created her signature with some well-known pieces such as the "headmistress" dress, worn at a Madonna shoot for W magazine; which also styled L´Wren.

Creó su sello de identidad como piezas tan conocidas como el vestido "headmistress" que aparece en un reportaje a Madonna en la revista W, de la que se encargó del vestuario L´Wren Scott.

She developed her own style in her designs and her hallmarks were tailored jackets, beautiful embellished cardigans- with a taste of old Hollywood glitter or glam-rock-, hourglass gowns and tailcoats. Also we can remark her hallmark colors like periwinkle, chartreuse, daffodil yellow and dove gray.

She has dressed some friends to red carpets like Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman and Rachel Feinstein- to name a few- and actresses like Amy Adams, Jessica Biel and Christina Hendricks.

Desarrolló su propio estilo con sellos inconfundibles como chaquetas entalladas, chaquetas de punto adornadas- con purpurina al estilo del antiguo Hollywood o con un toque glam-rock-, vestidos con corte reloj de arena y abrigos de cola. También  que señalar sus colores inconfundibles como el violeta, el verde amarillento, el amarillo narciso y el gris paloma.

Ha vestido a algunas amigas para la alfombra roja como Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman y Rachel Feinstein; y a actrices de la talla de Amy Adams, Jessica Biel y Christina Hendricks.

Cheer the day up

This weekend it´s been very windy and cold; but I refuse to go back to my darker clothes, so I tried to cheer the day up with this colorful outfit. The ensemble it´s very matchy matchy; but I wanted to keep it simple without to many pieces. Sometimes it´s better not to use too many colors. Keep smiles coming!

Esta semana ha hecho un tiempo bastante feo de viento y frío , pero me niego a volver a la ropa oscura, de modo que intenté alegrarme el día con un outfit más bien colorido. El conjunto es muy sencillo; pero no quería complicarlo demasiado añadiendo demasiados colores o complementos, porque unos pocos colores lo decían todo.

Navy me up

After a horrible day of windy and rainy day I run to the street the few hours of sun that left the day with a very light colored outfit. I built this outfit around these beautiful patern pants and mixed it with another print in the t-shirt. The key when yo want to mix prints is to keep the same color base, otherwise it would be a catastrophe. I cant wait to see what paterns can I get for summer!! Keep the navy colors coming!

Después de un día horrible lluvia y viento aproveché las pocas horas en las que ha hecho un poco de sol y para la ocasión he elegido un outfit con colores suaves. He creado este outfit entorno a estos pantalones de estampado floral mezclandolos con otro estampado en la camiseta. La clave cuando vas a mezclar estampados es utilizar siempre la misma base de tono, si no el resultado será horrible. Qué ganas tengo de ver los nuevos estampados de este verano!!
